  • The Basic Emergency First Aid Responder Skills Programme provides learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively to common medical emergencies in the workplace or community.

  • This short, focused programme equips participants with the confidence to provide immediate and appropriate first aid until professional medical assistance arrives.

Purpose of the Programme

This programme is designed to enable individuals to:

  • Recognise and assess emergency situations quickly.
  • Provide basic lifesaving first aid treatment.
  • Assist injured or ill persons while awaiting professional medical care.
  • Promote a safer working environment and support legal compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

  • Scene Safety & Assessment: Identifying hazards and ensuring personal and casualty safety.
  • Basic First Aid Principles: Understanding the chain of survival.
  • CPR & Recovery Position: Life-saving techniques for adults.
  • Bleeding Control & Wound Care: Managing cuts, burns, and fractures.
  • Shock Management: Recognising and treating shock symptoms.
  • Emergency Reporting: Correct procedures for contacting emergency services.

  • Upon successful completion, learners will receive a Statement of Results and a Skills Programme Certificate recognised by the Quality Council for Trades & Occupations (QCTO).
